The Process

To be successful on the web, it takes more than just putting a web site out there and hoping for results.  Site Management Console solutions follow a strict series of steps to ensure no stone is left unturned in the process.  Design, Develop, Deploy, and Manage / Promote.  The more detail you can dedicate to each step in the process, the greater likelihood your web site will deliver the results you are looking for.

Design

Successful web sites are also well thought out web sites.  There are many questions that need to be answered before the developers are brought into the mix.  What is the goal of your web site?  How are you going to measure success?  Who do you want to visit your site? How do you want your site to look (colors, fonts, layout, etc.)?  What materials (graphics, marketing, video) will you need?  How are you planning to promote your web site?  Having answers to these important questions now will ensure you aren't wasting time and money later.

By no means are these the only questions that need answers, but the following 20 questions will get you started on your quest to Succeed on the Web.

Develop

Upon completion of the research and design phase, it is now time to build your web site.  It's important that you have selected a team that can provide you everything you need while staying within your project budget.  Remember that experience is key here, as dealing with a team who has been there before will most likely provide you with the best results.  Affiliate yourself with a team that can say "Yes" to anything you throw at them.

A major advantage of a Site Management Console solution is the ability to hit the ground running in the Development stage.  Although your web site solution is unique to your needs, it's likely similar to something that has been done before.  The SMC allows us to easily utilize plug-ins that have already been built, customize them to your specifications, and save you money in the process.

Deploy

Now that your web site has been built and all the details have been addressed, it's time to let the world take a look.  As part of the deployment phase, your SMC web site will be moved off of the development servers and onto a live server at our stage of the art data center.  Your domains will be pointed to the new site, and the statistics software will start tracking visitors to your site.

Although a major milestone has been met, we're not quite ready to pop the champagn bottle.  Remember, our objective isn't to just put a web site out there and hope, the ultimate goal is to realize results.  Once your Site Management Console is live, you will receive training and the shift of responsibility from the development team to your team is underway.

Manage / Promote

While building your web site on the Site Management Console did save you time and money in development, the real power of the SMC is realized when it is time to manage your web site.  Whether it be keeping your content current, communicating with customers, posting the latest news, or updating your products and services, the SMC is the solution that puts the power of control in the hands of the decision makers.

A major step to ensuring success on the web is the promotion of your site.  This can be accomplished through word of mouth, marketing material, search engines (SEO), paid advertising (SEM), or by other means, but make sure customers can find you on the web.  Use the SMC to optimize your content and meta tags for the keywords you want your customers to find you with.  It's important to remember that a visit to your web site can only be a successful one if the product or service they are looking for is YOUR product or service.

The Site Management Console will help you realize success on the web and will be prove to be your distinct advantage over the competition.
